Arrest History in Marion County

- Ask the arresting agency for its incident or arrest report. MCSO accepts email, fax, mail, phone, and counter requests, while city police keep their own files.
- Search OJD court records or the relevant municipal court for filed charges and disposition. A booking charge alone does not show the court outcome.
- Use OSP Criminal History Record Checks for the official statewide repository product, and Oregon Offender Search after transfer to state custody.
If those paths fail, submit a precise Oregon Public Records Law request to the correct agency. Include the incident or case number, date, place, involved person, and exact existing record sought.
Marion County Arresting Agencies
The arresting agency owns its narrative even when MCSO owns the booking profile. Ask Salem Police about a Salem report, Keizer Police about a Keizer report, Woodburn Police about a Woodburn report, and MCSO about a deputy report. Oregon State Police uses its own public-record request route.

Marion County Arrest Report Delays
A report can exist without being ready for public release. MCSO says that when criminal charges are present, its report generally is not released until the person has gone to court and the matter is closed or adjudicated. Open-investigation details, child-abuse material, juvenile information, victim data, and protected identifiers may also be withheld or redacted under Oregon law.
When a report is delayed, use the booking number and court number to trace the public portions. Search the filed case for the charge and disposition, then return to the arresting agency after adjudication. The MCSO request form asks for requester contact details, case or incident number, date and place, involved people, record type, delivery choice, signature, and date. Email, fax, mail, phone, and walk-in channels are documented. The current linked fee schedule controls, so do not rely on older page text for the price.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
Jail Viewer is a custody and booking tool, not a permanent Marion County arrest archive. Entries can change as a person is released, transferred to the Transition Center, moved to state custody, or cleared from the active roster. Search with a tight date range and write down the booking and court identifiers while the entry is available. If no result appears, call 503-588-8595 rather than treating the blank screen as proof that no arrest occurred.
Marion County Jail is a direct-supervision facility at 4000 Aumsville Highway SE. The newer county description reports about 400 adults and roughly 8,000 bookings a year. Those figures count jail workflow, not convictions. The Transition Center at 3950 Aumsville Highway SE has 144 beds and serves as an intermediate sanction and work-release setting.
Note: A current roster is a moving custody list, so release or transfer may remove a prior Marion County booking from view.

A certified DOC record requires a public-record request. State custody data does not replace the original Marion County booking or the court judgment.
Arrests vs Convictions
An arrest record documents agency action and booking. A conviction comes from a court judgment after a plea or finding of guilt. The two records have different creators, purposes, and endings. Any person may request another person's limited Oregon record under ORS 181A.245 using name, date of birth, and current or last-known address. The public product includes convictions and unresolved arrests less than one year old, is not fingerprint-confirmed, and warns that identity was not established by fingerprints.
For self-review, OSP's Copy of Own Oregon Record uses a completed fingerprint card and the $33 record fee. That fuller identity-linked route differs from a county roster search. Marion County arrest events may take time to reach the repository and receive a court disposition. If an entry is wrong, the subject can use the inspection and challenge process under ORS 181A.230.
